Injection Mold Design

In order to mold Truefin relatively complicated tooling was required.  For those interested, the below illustrations are examples of software analysis tools currently available to increase the likelihood of successfully molding Truefin with Monprene Shore 72A.  According to this early analysis an injection molding machine having a minimum clamping force of 755 tons is required.  The substrate (chassis) is separately molded from 30% glass filled polypropylene in advance, and inserted into the fin mold before the fin mold is clamped shut and injection molded with Monprene.

Truefin is molded with a 950 ton injection molding machine.
